Xi?an Zhongshun Industry development corporation limited (Zhongshun ) was created in 1998 and has developed into the premier manufacturer of meters in northwest China. Before 1998, Zhongshun was a state-owned corporation for 39 years named Xi?an Electric Meter factory.
Zhongshun occupies 16 mu of land containing 12 000 ? of building space and has net assets reaching 52 million RMB. Zhongshun currently exports products to Russia and other Asian countries. In 2002, a technological workshop was built containing an advanced production line system with quality checking system as well. This plant has an annual production capacity over 1 000 000 meters.
Product development is very important to Zhongshun. The research team consists of 18 technicians: two holding Ph Ds? and ten with master?s degree. Their focus is on new product development. The same time, Zhongshun funded two universities to further meter research.
Recently, Zhongshun developed a new product, called infared water meter (with radio frequency card), which have captured 30% of Xi?an market rapidly.
